Don Monteith has been a part of the Scotiabank since 2004, and has worked with Graydon Oldfield for over a decade.
Together with the rest of the Monteith Oldfield team, Don provides disciplined, value-oriented financial services and highly personalized client care. A former business owner with a passion for money management, Don excels in using options to reduce volatility in portfolios and increase income, and is highly skilled in risk management. Don worked on an institutional trading desk for four years before joining Scotia, and utilizes this experience to achieve his clients’ investment goals. He enjoys the busy, ever-evolving world of finance, and is grateful for the relationships he has built with many long-time clients. A keen learner who is always striving to build upon his skills and knowledge, Don is currently working toward his CIM designation.
Graydon Oldfield has worked in finance since 1999, when he first joined ScotiaMcLeod.
A dedicated wealth advisor with a genuine commitment to his clients and his team, Graydon is passionate about investing, income generation, and client care. Prior to starting his career in finance, Graydon had a successful career in the business world. This valuable experience allows Graydon to truly understand his client’s needs and goals, particularly those in professional or business ownership roles. Along with his colleagues at Monteith Oldfield and Scotia Wealth Management, Graydon provides thorough, comprehensive financial services that are uniquely tailored to each client. He is passionate about investing, and is currently working toward his CIM designation.
Marg Sergi has been a part of the Scotiabank for over 20 years, and is pleased to be a part of this high achieving, synergetic team.
She has completed the CSC and PFP courses through the Canadian Securities Institute, and excels in working with clients to identify and meet their goals. Marg provides exemplary client care, and is an excellent support to both colleagues and clients of the group. She truly enjoys connecting with clients and their families, and values the many relationships she has built over the years. An organized, detail-oriented administrator, Marg is a great asset to Monteith Oldfield Financial.
A long-time resident of Barrie, Marg has been married for over 30 years and has two children. She enjoys gardening, reading, walking the family dog, and enjoying the wonderful lifestyle that Simcoe County offers.
Joel Kitchen is an organized, solution-oriented member of the Monteith Oldfield team who excels in administration, communications and client care.
Joel attended Canisius College in Buffalo, NY on a hockey scholarship, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. He has completed the CSC, CPH, and IRT courses through the Canadian Securities Institute, and is currently taking the WME certification. Joel enjoys working as part of a collaborative, ambitious wealth management team, and contributing to the success of Monteith Oldfield clients.
Joel was born and raised in Orillia and lived in Toronto for several years before moving to Barrie in 2014. He and his wife, Justine, have a dog named Harvey, and enjoy working on DIY projects around the house. Joel often quotes Red Green, “if they can’t find you handsome, they might as well find you handy”. Joel is an avid athlete and outdoorsman who cycles, plays golf and hockey, and regularly visits the gym. He has volunteered with the Brick Campaign Golf Tournament, which raises funds for The Seasons Centre for Grieving Children.
Wanda Lemay has over 20 years of experience in administration and client service, and is a valuable member of the Monteith Oldfield team.
She is known for providing efficient, thorough care to clients, and for being an excellent support to her colleagues at Monteith Oldfield and Scotia Wealth Management. Wanda loves interacting with clients, and takes great satisfaction in resolving their inquiries in a timely manner.
Originally from Toronto, Wanda has lived in Barrie since 1990. Her family includes two grown children, twins Matthew and Megan, as well as boyfriend Nick and the family dogs, Ayla and Saphira. Wanda is an active volunteer at Roberta Place, where her mother resides. In her leisure time, she enjoys biking, walking, going to the gym, and camping.
Ben provides clients with ideas to preserve wealth, facilitate multi-generational wealth transfer, tax planning and income security through insurance-based strategies.
Ben joined ScotiaMcLeod in December of 2007 and has fourteen years of experience in the insurance industry, including working as an independent agent with a national insurance company. Ben has an education in Sales and Marketing/Advertising, is Life licensed in Ontario and is working towards obtaining his Certified Financial Planning designation.
